Orofino Pool has officially launched its $5 million Capital Campaign to bring a long-awaited community pool back to Orofino.

Two pools: one year-round indoor and one seasonal outdoor. Great facility with activity rooms for parties and summer camps, full locker rooms and a snack bar.

The launch comes at a pivotal moment, as years of planning, fundraising, and community engagement have built strong momentum toward making the Orofino Pool a reality. For the first time since the original pool closed in 1999, momentum has reached a tipping point with nearly $600,000 already raised. With strong early fundraising success, growing community support, and design work nearing completion, the Orofino Pool project is moving steadily toward a projected groundbreaking this summer.

“This project has reached a level of momentum we haven’t seen before,” said Steve Clack, CCCI Board Treasurer. “With nearly $600,000 already raised, the community is clearly behind this effort. We’re moving from vision to reality, and we’re excited to carry that momentum into a summer groundbreaking.”

There are several ways for individuals and businesses to support the campaign. Contributions can be made through a one-time donation or by becoming a monthly donor through The Orofino Pool Builder Charter Membership program, helping provide steady, sustainable support as construction approaches. In addition to direct giving, the organization welcomes introductions to foundations and grant-making organizations that align with rural health, youth opportunity, and community recreation. Expanding these partnerships will be key to closing the final gap and ensuring long-term success.

The Orofino Pool project represents more than a recreational facility. Since the closure of the community’s original pool in 1999, residents have gone without consistent access to swim lessons, water safety education, and aquatic-based health and therapy opportunities. This new facility will restore those essential services while creating a year-round space for connection, activity, and community pride.

With continued community support and growing regional interest, the Capital Campaign marks a defining step toward delivering a project that will serve Orofino and the surrounding communities for generations.
